Battlefield Nimbyism

The MOM line has met its match, a revolutionary (not civil as previously entered) war battlefield that already has tracks running through it...

Haha! America can't build anything anywhere any more. It will be even more laughable when McCain gets in power and US infrastructure just rots away.

Light rail through parks are considered very valuable in other parts of the world. Certainly nicer than a car park, and much more able to scale to demand.

That's a Revolutionary War battlefield:

The rail line the farmers created to transport crops ran straight through the heart of one of the largest American Revolution battlefields. On June 28, 1778, George Washington’s Continental Army fought the British to what many historians consider a draw in what later became known as the Battle of Monmouth.
