One funny parody I've seen (not online, though) is for public transit but spoofing this ad.

It's sort of a PSA feel, and just says "Give Public Transportation a Spin", but the main picture has a GM vehicle with the caption "Support Your Local Junkyard."

I keep telling my neighbors that white people ARE allowed on the bus.

haha! That was pretty funny. It just goes to show how desperate GM is to sell cars, that they have to emphasize the main reason why people never took transit.

I already have a few ideas on how to spoof this ad!

It's still the prevailing attitude, but insulting your potential customers is never good business practice.

Or, one could wear the "creep and weirdo" badge with pride and look down one's nose at the boring individuals driving that car...

Yeah, nothing says "productive member of society" like driving a Cavalier.

How sad, a chevy cavalier that gets 25mpg is pushing a horrible ad like that. Nasty.

i've always thought the way to improve the image of public transit is by making a commercial of supermodels and celebrities (no paris hilton) riding the bus. plus model this transit commercial after those sleek luxury car ads.

the last time i rode the metro-north i was absolutely amazed by the number of well-off riders going into new york for the evening, these were wealthy families from new canaan, darien, westport dressed from probably saks and neiman marcus who probably also have several expensive cars at home. perhaps this is the "old money" crowd and the "new money" crowd wouldnt think of taking the train. I do know some places well off people wouldnt be caught near a bus/train let alone on one, while other places riding the bus is seen as normal even if you own 2 bmws.

It's amzing how low GM will go to sell cars.

Though they have done this before, NCL, stalking Ralph Nader, etc.

The people at GM are a bunch of creeps!

how about a spoof ad showing one of GM's shitty cars with car-dealer writing on the windshield about the poor quality and lack of innovation of their products or commenting on the incompetent management of GM?

it is worth noting that this "creeps and weirdos" ad is from several years ago and was withdrawn due to the negative publicity it got when it appeared in vancouver.

I don't think people in Vancouver care about these things.
