One More Clunker

Perhaps the streetcars of San Francisco were getting a bit upset with the lack of funding coming their way and the silly cash for clunkers program, so they decided to tag team an SUV. In all seriousness, I hope everyone is ok.

Reposting Bob Davis: My daughter sent me a link to the SFGate article with a comment referring to Laurel & Hardy. In their 1930 movie "Hog Wild", Laurel's Model T gets crunched between two LARy streetcars. In those days, you could buy a used "T-bone" for 15 or 25 bucks. SUV's are a lot more expensive.

How bad was the damage to the streetcars?

Muni NEEDS to seriously overhaul its operational procedures. This is the third serious collision involving one LRV hitting another in the last 2 years or so. That kind of safety record is unacceptable in my mind.
