10% Off Your Next Stay

Update: Good Luck getting there on LRT. Jon and Anon have pointed out that its nowhere near the station. I thought it was the downtown station, but its one out by the new WES line.

If you take Max to your hotel.
"Our hotel has recently undergone renovation, which means we're able to offer top-of-the-line accommodations with the 10% discount that we offer to guests who use the Light Rail," said director of sales Melissa DelBalzo. "During these tough economic times, we wanted to help our guests get the best deals possible while still feeling like they're getting pampered on the road. The savings of staying at an Embassy Suites really add up when you consider the cost of a cooked-to-order breakfast, light snacks, and free drinks of your choice - all of which we provide as a standard amenity to our guests."

Its worth pointing out this hotel is nowhere near the MAX light rail line. At first when I saw Embassy Suites and Portland MAX I assumed it was the Portland Airport Embassy Suites or then their downtown location (both of which are MAX accessible) but this one is way on the other side of the region, in the suburbs and in a very un-transit friendly area. I'd just skip the offer and use Hotwire to get a cheap downtown hotel room. I do like discounts for transit riders though as rare as they are.

The hotel looks like it will be near one of the stations on the upcoming WES commuter line.

You guys are right. How the heck are they going to get there on light rail? Perhaps if WES stops there.

I noticed that one too... I guess we all share the same Google News alerts...

The full press release says they run a free shuttle from the Beaverton MAX station to the hotel, but then later confuses one of the future WES stations with MAX.

Perhaps they plan on saving some $$$ by not having to run their regular shuttle out to the airport so often.

Although proximity to a future WES stop may have some benefit for this hotel, to advertise it for airport travelers makes little sense as A) it would require a transfer, and B) WES will run only during commute hours and at limited frequencies.

They've cut their shuttle down to limited pick-ups at the airport and frequent pick-ups at the kiss-and-ride area at Beaverton TC.

I don't see what the problem is
