He should have mention the current light rail line.

Also I wonder if that tunnel could still be used today?

Well, streetcars really aren't light rail. :)

But also that is interesting about the tunnel. He stated the costs then would be about 1.5 Million now.

I seriously doubt we could manage to build anything that involved a tunnel for 1.5 Million today. Kind of shows the difference in the headache of today's efforts to build up systems again.

I'm also betting that the tunnel was probably mostly either A: streetcar funded or B: city funded. Not like the sphagetti mess of funding these days too, another reason the systems of them are not comparable to the system of today.
