How about "Northeast Regional"?That's got a nice ring to it.I think "Zephyr" might sound a little more appropriate though. It would be short for California Zephyr, Amtrak's Chicago-Oakland service. Also could be short for the fallen Kansas City Zephyr, Rio Grande Zephyr, and San Francisco Zephyr.

Unless the puppy is slow, obese, overpriced, and prone to stress fractures, Acela would not be a particularly nice name for the animal.
