From what I have read, it's the school officials that want the station moved.
Well, this proves that not everyone who works at the place of higher education is intelligent. Most schools would kill for a convenient transit line to their school.

nope. Many university administrators are more concerned with flexing their muscles and showing whose turf it is rather than convenient, logical transportation infrastructure.This person also has little experience with actually using electrified trains because they mentioned 'crime' as a concern.
It's not surprising at all. It's a town with no light rail currently. They don't understand what its like to live with it yet. Heck, even in Portland where its allegedly a light rail paradise, you still get places -- mostly suburbs -- who are afraid that light rail will bring in crime and other undesirables.
Just because some one is educated, doesn't mean that they are smart.
