If you're going to Phoenix, stay away from the end light rail stations. People love to swarm the rails on the first few days. Apparently the Mesa station is packed. Remember this scene last year from Charlotte, or perhaps Seattle?

7 months and a week until Central Link opens! Wooo.
Oh boy! Lots of people want to use light rail in Phoenix. And what day does the Central Link open, A.J.? (To note something, my birthday is July 1st, also Canada Day.)
The good news? Two places in America are left building LRT, Seattle and Norfolk, VA (not counting all the expansions of existing operations currently being built which anyone can get into). The bad news? That's really it.
it seems most cities that are going to get LRT already have it and would mostly be expansion of existing systems. though detroit would seem to be next for new LRT. we'll also have to see if kansas city LRT comes roaring back in the next few years.
Ken Orski makes the same argument, that we're done building "new" starts. I don't know though, I think there are still a lot of cities out there including Detroit, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Austin, San Antonio, Columbus, Tampa, Orlando, Las Vegas, Providence, Milwaukie, Jacksonville, Louisville, Richmond VA, Raleigh Durham...etc.

It's a good thing they built plenty of parking at the stations! (sarcasm)
